John 3:16
“ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
This is probably one of the most quoted scriptures that I have heard since I have become a follower of Christ! However, there is something I wanted to highlight that caught my attention in this powerful verse!
God loves us so very much that he literally gave up his only son on our behalf that we may come to know Him and love Him. In a world that can be so self absorbed this is such a refreshing concept that someone would actually lay his life down for me! Here is the revelation I felt God gave me through this verse.
He wants us to know that because of this great love we should never doubt our position in His Kingdom! He most certainly thought we were WORTH reconciling! He considers us worthy, valuable and chosen. He chose us even when we didn’t deserve his sacrificial act of love. It doesn’t matter what our pasts look like, what sins we have allowed in our lives or how messed up we feel our life is at this given moment. God says He just wants our love right here and right now. He tells us to come as we are. No need to “clean up” for Jesus. He wants us to bring all of our brokenness and hurts to Him. He will take us in His strong yet gentle arms to bring comfort and healing like none other can give.
Today, have an assurance that as a follower of Jesus Christ you have been given the deposit of His spirit as an inheritance of what is to come and your name has been written in the palms of His hands. YOUR Name is constantly before the King of Kings and He loves you with an everlasting, unconditional love!
